Season: All year round

Catch range: Fjord trout is farmed in Northern Norway

Nutritional information: Fjord trout is rich in Omega 3's, Vitamin D

Fjord trout fillet is a shade darker and firmer than other salmonids. It is slightly more sensitive to heat, but treat it right and you’re in for a succulent delight. You can treat it more or less exactly like a salmon, just take extra care not to overcook it. Throw a fresh fjord trout on the grill for a zesty and savoury experience, or bake it in the oven with some butter, lemon, and onion for a mellow and flavourful feast.

In addition to the typical seafood benefits of lots of protein and selenium, the fjord trout is also especially abundant in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart and your brain. It is also full of vitamin D, which you need to keep your bones strong and healthy.
